Love {Accent Tables}

I mentioned here that we are searching for a new media center and yes, we are still undecided and searching. When we started looking we made the decision not to purchase a “living room set.” We didn’t want the matchy-matchy side tables, coffee table and media center. So, that means we are searching for pieces that don’t match, but still go well together. We are also looking for pieces we love. Tall order, I know. Here is what I have found in my online shopping spree for living room accent tables- yeah, let’s call them that!

1. Merritt End Table- Arhaus- Sale $100

2. Antwerp End Table- Arhaus- Sale $299

3. Ono Cube- Crate & Barrel- Sale $149

4. Parsons End Table- West Elm- $199

5. Spool Accent Table- Crate & Barrel-$199

6. Atacama Side Table- Crate & Barrel- $399

What do you think? Are we crazy for not doing the “set” thing, or are we making the right decision?

Love {Ruffled Bedding}

Lately I can’t seem to get enough of ruffled bedding. There is something so comfy- like an old pair of sweatpants, yet beautiful- like a crisp, clean white button down about it and thankfully it happens to be almost everywhere. Now if I could just talk the husband into it.

Bell-ieve it or not

Believe it or not we changed our mind on Casa Statt’s kitchen pendant lighting. Are you surprised?  If you remember in this post we were sold on the glass globe from West Elm or Pottery Barn. No questions asked we were ordering one of those globes. Yet, after much deliberation we ordered the kitchen’s pendant lighting this week and we decided on…drum roll please…the Rustic Glass Pendant from Pottery Barn.

Pottery Barn

This bell-shaped light is just what we were looking for and we can’t wait to see them lighting up or beautiful new, clean kitchen.

Here’s the reason for the switch. Our top choice was the West Elm globe, but while ordering quickly realized we had to purchase two lighting kits. This was a turnoff. Meanwhile, we started to prefer the Pottery Barn globe for its modern and rustic feel. When we went to order this light, the pricing had changed and that was a turnoff. We changed our thinking and shopped around. When we did, we landed on this great PB light.

It made us realize that whatever our rationale, things happen for a reason and something made us feel uncomfortable ordering either of the globe lights. As consumers this power of choice is the only one we have and it’s strong. I’m glad we didn’t purchase the other lights. It forced us to look further and we found something we like even better!

Willow branches

Yesterday, we purchased some willow branches during lunch to fill a large vase at the foot of our fireplace. After we added them to the vase we wondered why we didn’t do it sooner. They brought a freshness (I know, even though they are fake) and a height to the room that was missing before.

That got me thinking, wouldn’t a big vase of willow branches look amazing in this room too? I love the creams and gray-blues and the contrast between the  wood tones and metallics.

Fine Friday

Friday’s are oh so fine and one of my favorite days of the week. Even though it’s supposed to reach 90 today, I have finally caught the fall bug. I love crisp mornings with my coffee and catching up on blogs. Last weekend we dug out our down comforter and it got me thinking about my poor little feet. We have hardwood floors throughout our house, which we love, but we really need to invest in a few more rugs to warm the place up. Here are a few of my favorite fall rug picks. Have a great weekend!
