Gasland

This week has been busy…in a good way. Tuesday night M and I went to The Little Theatre to see Gasland that explores The Halliburton-developed drilling technology of “fracking” or hydraulic fracturing. The technique has unlocked a “Saudia Arabia of natural gas” underground in the United States. I have been wanting to see this film for about a month now and The Little was showing the film with a Q&A session with Josh Fox after the film.

Interview with Josh Fox

The film makes you think. I left the film thinking. I slept thinking. I woke up thinking. I went to work thinking and then finally, when distracted by emails and a to-do list the whole thing wasn’t so troubling. All I could think, when I stopped thinking about it, was that the people affected by it can’t just stop thinking about it.

New York State is the next area drilling is slated to start. How scary is that? The Marcellus Formation stretches into part of Ontario County. If you aren’t informed about this issue, it’s time to get informed.
